National Bank of Oman (NBO) Champions People With Disabilities
National Bank of Oman (NBO) backed the first-of-its-kind ‘Kaderoon’ Forum which focused on the training, rehabilitation, and employment of people with disabilities. The two-day event saw a number of discussion panels, workshops, and sessions that tackled the importance of empowering this segment with the tools needed to become active members of the workforce, in addition to establishing connections with the educators and employers.
Employment Opportunities for All with NBO
Hassan Shaban, General Manager – Chief Government Banking Officer at NBO, said, “Helping communities in need is embedded within our bank’s culture, at NBO we aim to provide opportunities to all and realize people’s full potential across all segments. Our support for this event stems from our commitment to supporting initiatives that seek to deliver measurable benefits in the lives of individuals with special needs. It has been a privilege for us to offer training and job opportunities that are meant to make a difference in their lives.”
Role in Community-Building
NBO plays an active role in hiring, training and engaging with people of disabilities, leading the way among the private sector organizations. Sponsorship of such events is part of the bank’s active CSR program, which has so far pledged almost OMR 324,000 towards various community outreach initiatives. Through education, youth development, training and employment, and entrepreneurship, the bank aims to contribute to the socio-economic advancement of the nation.
