Takatuf Scholars graduate having earned their place in the Takatuf Scholars Network

The Takatuf Scholars Programme, a unit within Takatuf Oman LLC, conducted the last major activity of its Enrichment Programme for the students who joined in 2015. Almost 60 students from throughout the Sultanate came together once again for the Winter Workshop at the Airport Heights Campus of Caledonian College. In completing of this workshop, the students earned their place in the Takatuf Scholars Network and will proceed to compete for international scholarships, this year sponsored by Orpic, Oxy and Mitsui.
Students who earn the designation of Takatuf Scholar have completed a rigorous programme of intellectual and personal development. They have been acquiring new skills and abilities that will prepare them for success as students and employees in the 21st century. During the Winter Workshop, they completed a series of international tests, were assessed on their project-based learning initiatives and participated in a scenario-based collaborative problem-solving exercise to learn about negotiating to build consensus among diverse interests.
Commenting on the event, Ibrahim Al Harthi, acting CEO of Takatuf said, “We are very proud of the results and achievements our students are getting and we are increasingly more convinced that they will make a difference in the near future when they become corporate leaders in Oman. Our goal is to expand the programme to many other students from across the Sultanate, so we continue to seek leading companies operating in the country to become investment partners of the Takatuf Scholars Programme.”
Since 2012 over 2,500 Omani students have applied and been tested for admission, 327 have attended a Summer Residential Programme and engaged in an independent learning programme concurrent with attending high school here in Oman and 68 have been awarded international scholarships to attend preparatory school and universities abroad.
