Eberhard & Co. has received a commission to issue a special Super Limited Edition of their iconic Contograf chronograph, exclusively for senior officers in the Sultan of Oman’s Armed Forces.
The Limited Special Edition of the Contrograf sports a desert camouflage pattern on the watch face, in keeping with the sandy terrain of the Sultanate and the colours of the Royal Army of Oman.
The timepiece is set apart from the equally stunning green-toned camouflage Contograf that took the horological world by storm when it made its debut. The glamorous edition of Contograf in green camouflage, has been one of the most successful models of the year, the limited edition of 99 pieces was quickly sold out and is presently the object of desire of many watch collectors.
The Sultanate of Oman, a trading and maritime empire that straddled Asia and Africa in its heyday and home to legendary sailors and explorers, is today one of the most beautiful Countries in the Arabian Peninsula. The Sultanate has been wisely ruled by His Highness the Sultan Qāboos bin Said Al Said and has gained an enviable reputation as one of the preferred destinations for world class international tourism.
The Sultanate offers a smorgasbord of touristic, watersports, hiking and adventure sports possibilities, and increasing numbers of foreign visitors are falling in love with its authentic charm and the genuine friendliness and hospitality of its people.
“It is a great honour for Eberhard & Co, to receive the appointment to produce a dedicated special timepiece for senior officers of the Sultanate of Oman’s Armed Forces,” said Mario Peserico, CEO of Eberhard & Co. “We have had an extremely fruitful and long-standing commercial presence in the Sultanate, which itself has a long and fascinating history. We hope to continue to develop an increasingly closer liaison with the Sultanate and its people.”
This Special Edition of the Contograf is characterized by a mimetic dial “camouflage” in khaki and brown tones, with applied black indices, faceted. The ceramic bezel with unidirectional rotation serves as a frame for the tachometer scale inspired by automotive design. The case back of each watch is numbered and has a special engraving with the words “The Royal Oman Armed Forces” marking them out as collector’s watches.
