April fuel prices for Oman announced, petrol and diesel to cost more
The Ministry of Oil and Gas has announced the revised petrol and diesel prices for April in the Sultanate.
The committee in-charge of studying and fixing the sale price of oil products in the Sultanate held a meeting and approved several procedures including the new pricing for oil products (regular, super and diesel) for April 2016.
The price of super grade petrol (M95) is increased to 158 baiza from 145 baiza per litre, regular petrol (M90) will now cost 145baiza as compared to 130 baiza per litre for March, and diesel will cost 163 baiza up from the 146 baiza in March.
Oman had deregulated its oil prices in January this year post the downslide in global oil prices. This is part of the austerity measures proactively undertaken by Oman that are aimed at plugging the budget deficit.
