50 Years of Innovation

Italian luxury yacht manufacturer Azimut Yachts kicked off their 50th birthday celebrations with a special two-day event in Dubai. We head to the party where two new yachts were unveiled as part of the festivities
Fifty years in the yacht building industry is no mean feat and Azimut Yachts kicked off their anniversary celebrations in style with a two-day event in Dubai. One of the most renowned and popular yacht companies in the world, Azimut Yachts began their five-destination celebrations with Dubai as their first port of call.
The two-celebratory event was held at the picturesque Bulgari Yacht Club & Marina in Dubai. Reminiscent of the Mediterranean coastline, the luxury resort was a fitting venue for the celebrations.
Azimut Yachts was started in 1969 by Paolo Vitelli, then a young student. Over the years Azimut Yachts has grown in stature as one of the finest and most trusted yachts and boats builders in the world. Innovation has been the key features of Azimut, which has allowed the company to stay ahead of the competition. For instance, Azimut’s use of large hull windows to give guests aboard its yachts the feeling of being connected to the sea is a much-appreciated element. Its yacht model series feature state-of-the-art technology, stylish interiors and aggressive performance.
The two-day event in Dubai also included viewings of Azimut’s various yachts, specially crafted culinary experiences, entertainment, and a special yachts parade. Two new yachts were also unveiled at the special event: Azimut Grande 25 Metri and Azimut S7. The former, featuring stylish interior design by Achille Salvagni and bold exterior lines by Stefano Righini, has already attracted great interest and won several awards. The most recent is the ‘Best Motor Yacht in Asia’ at the Christofle Yacht Style Awards. Azimut S7, a 21-metre 45-ton yacht with a sporty soul, is yet another extremely popular model boasting a high degree of cutting-edge technology and IPS triple propulsion. The exteriors were designed by Stefano Righini, while Francesco Guida designed the interiors.
Marco Valle, CEO, Azimut Yachts, commented, “The Grande 25 Metri has made a positive contribution to Azimut Yachts’ success since its launch in Cannes last September and it gives us immense pleasure to bring this to the Gulf region with a positive notion. This region has not only appreciated the distinctive features of Azimut Yachts’ models, but has always provided positive feedback on the innovation and technology applied in our entire Grande Collection. This has always helped us in successfully bringing yachts with strong personalities, addressed to a specific target, in this region.”
