Omantel honours fourth batch of Mehnati

Omantel, in collaboration with Sadara Institute, celebrated the graduation of the fourth batch of ‘Mehnati’ programme on Tuesday, in a ceremony held in Sur.
‘Mehnati’ is an initiative that aims to empower youth to tap into smartphones repair industry. With 20 graduates in the fourth batch, the total number of graduates have reached 80; among them are differently abled people and those under social insurance.
Laila Al Wahaibi, CSR Manager at Omantel, said, “We are delighted with the tremendous efforts the trainees have put into the programme, they were diligent in repairing smartphones and showed great willingness to learn and grow.”
“This takes them steps forward toward establishing their own businesses, and it always makes us happy to see them progressing with their lives.” She noted.
Al Wahaibi further said that the graduation of the fourth batch comes after an intensive one-month training, adding that training of the fifth batch has already started a few days back in the Governorate of Dhofar.
As she said, Mehnati is a starting point for Omani youngsters who are enthusiastic about unleashing their potentials in repairing and maintaining smartphones and it aims to serve the local market with talented individuals who can help boosting the industry.
The programme is implemented under a direct supervision of Ministry of Manpower and Sadara Institute, and the candidates are nominated by Public Authority of Manpower Register.
