Omantel celebrates the graduation of first batch of “Ethraa”
Under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Mona bint Salim Al Jardani, Undersecretary of Ministry of Manpower for Technical Education and Vocational Training, Omantel celebrated the graduation of the first batch of “Ethraa” program that aims to build the capabilities of Omani youth in call centre operations.
Ethraa graduates completed an intensive training that lasted for six months and included theoretical as well as on job training by Omantel call centre professionals, enabling them to acquire new skills and practical experience.

Commenting on this program, Her Excellency Dr. Mona bint Salim Al Jardani Undersecretary of Ministry of Manpower for Technical Education and Vocational Training said, “Such programs contribute to building capabilities of Omani youth and equipping them with new skills that enable them to compete for the jobs offered by government and private sector institutions”.
“We at Ministry of Manpower, reiterate the importance of the role played by national companies through such initiatives,” Her Excellency added.
Talal Said Al Mamari Chief Executive Officer of Omantel said, “We are proud to have launched “Ethraa” program which is one of the most important capacity building programs. The program comes as part of our efforts to build the new generation of young Omanis and equip them with the right set of skills and competencies that enable them to contribute to Sultanate’s growth and increase their competitiveness in the job market. As a leading national company, Omantel invests heavily in training and developing Omani graduates in telecom and customer service.”
Ethraa program is the recent addition to Omantel CSR initiatives aiming to empower and build the capabilities of Omani youth. Omantel recently concluded the graduation of the last batch of “Mehnati” program where 100 Omanis have been trained on mobile phones maintenance and sale enabling them to start their own business as entrepreneurs and provide job opportunities for their colleagues.
