Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Oman’s ‘Wosool’ Project

HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, presided over a ceremony today [October 10] to launch the highly-anticipated ‘Wosool’ project.
The project, which constitutes a significant component of Oman’s national digital transformation strategy, embodies an e-government approach towards the realisation of Oman Vision 2040.
‘Wosool’ seeks to set up a system of digital document exchange featuring all properties needed for the management of a document; right from the moment of its creation till its final stage.
The process involves the optimum handling of documents that is compatible with the national procedures manual for the management of electronic documents. Upon implementation, it will also help in unifying policies of fast e-document management and exchange.
Hisham Khalid Al Roshedi, Director of the Electronic Management System at the National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA), said in a speech on the occasion that ‘Wosool’ project constitutes a shift forward in the documents sector so that it could be transformed into a modern sector that keeps pace with the requirements of the future.
‘Wosool’ will furthermore connect government departments with each other and empower the exchange and management of documents in an electronic manner. It will inevitably help to cut down costs and manage them electronically (and sustainably) without going through the process of printing.
Lastly, the project will provide systems that protect digital content and prevent unauthorised access to documents, thereby enhancing security so that only authorised personnel can view and deal with a document through a set of properties and specifications associated with the comprehensive management of an establishment’s informational content.
