Oman’s U-23 Football Olympics Team Prepares for Upcoming Matches

Muscat: The Head Coach of Oman’s U-23 Football Olympics Team, Dario Basic, will be leading Oman’s bright and promising youngsters for their first international matches, under his tutelage. The matches will be played against Bahrain on June 5th and June 8th. These are his first engagements since, his appointment last year.
The coach and the team are currently undergoing a camp in Manama City with, training having commenced on Friday. This 19 – day camp is also, in preparation for the Asian leg of the Olympics Qualifiers which, is scheduled to be conducted in October alongside the finals for the qualifiers which will be held in Uzbekistan in September, next year.
The upcoming friendly international matches will give coach Basic and his second-in-command a better understanding of the readiness levels of the players. The current squad was directly promoted from the U-19 team as the Olympics League was not conducted in 2019-20 & 2020-21 due to the ongoing pandemic.
