Neymar & Barcelona Settle Arrive At An Out-of-court Settlement For Legal Dispute
The Brazilian Star and the Catalan Club have settled a legal dispute amicably and out of court for an undisclosed amount. The dispute stemmed from Neymar’s disputed claim over unpaid bonuses which were challenged in court by F.C Barcelona.
Neymar had sued the club for €46.3 million and the club counter-sued, in turn, for breach of contract. The result of the litigation initially was given out in favour of the Catalan football club with Neymar being ordered to pay F.C Barcelona €6.7 million. However, the Brazilian star athlete challenged the decision and opted for an appeal which eventually led to both parties settling the dispute out-of-court for an undisclosed amount.
A statement released by the football club said, “FC Barcelona announce that it has ended out of court in amicable fashion the various labour and civil litigation cases that were open with the Brazilian player Neymar.” -Reuters
