The Sultanate of Oman is one of the pillars of Thales’s history in the Middle East. The group has been in the Sultanate since the late 70’s when the first radio communications equipment was delivered to the Sultanate. Since then it has created a strong and lasting bonds with Oman.
Thales is involved in multiple defense and civilian projects in the Sultanate of Oman. Providing integrated communication systems, radio equipment, radar technology, command & control systems, and electronic warfare equipment, in the defense sector. Whilst in the civil domain, the Group provides In Flight Entertainment (IFE) equipment across Oman Air’s latest fleet, as well as providing automatic landing systems for the new airports of the sultanate of Oman.
The successes Thales has had in the Sultanate, across many of its business areas, has allowed them to become a trusted partner to serve Defense, security and aerospace projects.
By further consolidating their local presence and by boosting their local talent pool, they intend to support the economic development of the Sultanate for the foreseeable future, as they have been doing since they began work in Oman.
