Muscat: SOHAR Port and Freezone have donated OMR 250,000 to the Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO) to aid Cyclone Shaheen recovery efforts. Relief work will start immediately to repair infrastructure, restore vital services, shelter for residents, and will also provide food, clean water, and medical supplies throughout the governorate. Staff also volunteered to work with government entities and local NGOs to support relief activities within the region. The company is also encouraging employees to donate a percentage of their salaries to the cause.
“Oman is a strong nation and its people always do all they can to support each other in times of need. The dedication of our staff and tenants to help the community shows how close they are to our hearts and we are committed to supporting the recovery of the country in any way we can,” said, Mark Geilenkirchen, Chief Executive Officer of SOHAR Port.
The OCO is accepting donations through the electronic portal for charitable organisations, www.donate.om.
