Sohar International Prize Scheme Makes Winning Closer to Everyone
Muscat: Delivering on its promise and excitement of a winning journey, Sohar International continues to make winning closer to everyone with more than 600 winners to date under its Prize Scheme 2021. With a total of more than RO 2,250,000 in cash prizes, a bank-wide approach includes weekly, monthly, half-year, and year-end draws, salary transfer, dedicated branch draws, and special draws on National Day and Omani Women’s Day, the saving scheme is designed to maximize the number of winners and promote a healthy savings culture in Oman.

With guaranteed prizes lined up throughout the year, the savings scheme momentum is geared to pick up, fulfilling the aspirations of loyal customers. We are all sailing across these challenging times and it is those who have saved that are capable to sustain the best, and whether such headwinds. We, therefore, encourage all our customers to continue saving to be rewarded as well through the upcoming Prize Scheme draws including weekly, monthly, half-yearly, and year-end prize draws as well as salary transfer, branch draws and special occasions draws.”
Catering to all segment types, the 2021 Prize Scheme offers customers more draws, more chances, and more winners with the introduction of the newly added Salary Transfer Account Draws and beefing up the previous categories with more overall value in cash prizes.
The weekly draws under the scheme provide 10 customers bank-wide chances to win RO 500 each and 10 minor accounts to win RO 100 each. Under the monthly draws, two winners from the general segment bank-wide will receive RO 25,000 each; and two winners from the wealth management segment will also receive RO 25,000 each.
With the purpose of encouraging a monthly savings habit to secure a better financial future, Sohar | Prize Scheme 2021 consists of Monthly Salary Draws, giving one lucky winner bank-wide a chance to win a prize worth OMR 12,000. For the Sohar | First customer base, a total of OMR 5000 is distributed equally among two customers.
The scheme also offers Monthly Branch Draws offering two customers from each of the bank’s branches to win OMR 500 each per winner. In order to enhance the culture of saving among youth, Sohar | Prize Scheme 2021, also offers dedicated Monthly Youth Draws as they play a key role in building the future of Oman. A reward of RO 300 will be given away monthly to 10 youth customers each.
Under the Half-Yearly Draws, the Bank will be giving away OMR 200,000 distributed equally among two customers in the General segment and two customers from the Wealth Management segment; each will be getting the chance to win OMR 50,000. The grand prize of the year-end draw rewards a whopping RO 400,000 that will be distributed equally between four lucky winners, two from the General segment and two from the wealth management category.
In addition to the weekly, monthly, half-yearly, and year-end draws, the scheme will also provide customers with ‘Special Draws’ as part of honoring special occasions within the community. Sohar | Prize Scheme 2021 will host special draws to mark the 51st National Day of the Renaissance in November by giving a chance for 51 customers bank-wide to win OMR 1,000 each. While the other occasion draw will be conducted on Omani Women’s Day, celebrated annually on 17th October, by offering 10 female customers bank-wide a chance to win equally from a total of OMR 10,000.
To be eligible in the weekly draws, customers from the general segment will need to maintain a minimum monthly average balance of OMR 100. Similarly, customers from the general segment will need to maintain a minimum monthly average balance of OMR 100 where Wealth Management segment customers will need to maintain an average monthly balance of OMR 40,000 to be eligible in the monthly, half-yearly and year-end draws. As for Sohar | First draws, customers will need to maintain an average monthly balance of OMR 10,000. Also, customers will need to maintain a minimum monthly average balance of OMR 100 to enter the salary transfer and branch draws.
All prize accounts will have four chances for every minimum average balance maintained in their accounts for any of the above draws, while Minor accounts will enjoy double of these changes as an effort from Sohar International to encourage adopting a saving culture and financial prudence from a young age. The Sohar I Prize Scheme 2021 is not exclusive for accounts in Omani Riyal only; saving accounts that are maintained in AED, GBP and USD are also eligible to participate in the Sohar | Prize Scheme 2021. Those seeking to save without participating in the prize draws can instead choose the interest-bearing accounts.
