Oman’s Ministry of Labor Details Indicators Of Employment Plan
The Ministry of Labor announced the achievement of 53 per cent of the total employment and replacement plan for the second quarter of this year, as the total number of jobs in the government and private sectors for the first time until the end of last June reached 18,716 jobs.
This constitutes a completion rate of 92 per cent (9,169 jobs) in the government sector and 7,399 jobs in the private sector, with a completion rate of 46 per cent.
The Ministry indicated that the total job turnover (those who had previously worked in the private sector) amounted to 16,486, as the total employment for the first time and those who had previously worked reached 35,202.

The number of training opportunities associated with replacement and employment amounted to 611 opportunities in the government sector, with a completion rate of 31 per cent, while the number in the private sector amounted to 1,537 opportunities, with a completion rate of 22 per cent.
The Ministry also reported that the number of people enrolled in the self-employment initiative reached 941, which is a training path that connects job seekers with a number of training programs to qualify them to fill opportunities related to self-employment in the local and global market with various qualifications and academic specialisations.
