Oman-UAE Review Fields of Joint Industrial Cooperation

Muscat: Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry today met with Omar Ahmed al-Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The meeting, held via video conferencing, reviewed fields of joint cooperation, features of the industrial strategies in the two countries, programmes and initiatives related to developing local industrial content, the role of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) in developing the industrial sector and investment opportunities in strategic industrial projects and renewable energy sectors.
Hilal Hamad al-Hasani, CEO of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) underlined the role Madayn plays in developing investments in the industrial sector in the Sultanate. He also highlighted the most important projects currently being implemented and the promising investment opportunities resulting from establishing new industrial cities in the Sultanate.
The two sides agreed to form a technical team tasked with drawing the framework of the joint cooperation and future initiatives in the policies of the industrial sector, as well as the investment opportunities and the joint ventures.
