His Majesty the Sultan Lays the Foundation Stone for Oman Cultural Complex
Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik laid the foundation stone for the Oman Cultural Complex project and the National Records and Archives Authority building at Airport Heights in Muscat today.
His Majesty the Sultan was received at the project site by Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, and Chairman of the Founding Committee of the Oman Cultural Complex Project, and Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad al Dhawayani, Chairman of the National Records and Archives Authority.
The estimated cost for the infrastructure and construction work for the project, is at RO 147.8 million, and on an estimated area of 80,200 sqm, with the plot stretching to 400,000 sqm.
The complex consists of three main buildings – the National Theatre, the National Library, and the National Records and Archives Authority – in addition to eight buildings for the complex’s facilities.
