Cost For Recruitment Of Expats In Oman Increased: Minister Of Labour
Muscat: Oman has increased the fees for the recruitment of expat workers, with RO2,001 being the highest cost of recruitment fees for foreign workers in top positions.
In a conference held by the Ministry of Labour, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labour, HE Sheikh Nasr Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour said that the fees will be raised for workers across a number of positions.
It was also announced that the after-service rights of migrant workers will be transferred to the Social Insurance Fund.
In a statement, the ministry announced: “There are changes in the Labour Law and Civil Service Law, which includes raising the fees for the recruitment of non-labour manpower in administrative and executive positions.”
The new fees for the recruitment of expat workers in Oman are as follows:
1. RO2,001 to recruit expats in top positions
2. RO1,001 to recruit expats in mid positions
3. RO601 to employ an expatriate in the specialised and technical positions
4. RO361 for the profession of fisherman
5. Other occupations: RO301
6. RO141 to bring a domestic worker and those with the same skills from one to three workers
7. RO241 to bring a domestic worker and those with the same skills from four to more
8. RO201 for a farmer and breeder worker from one to three workers, and RO301 from the fourth worker to more.
9. RO5 fees to change the worker data
10. RO5 to change the worker’s employer from one to another
