Archives Authority Inks MoU to Operate TRA “Wusool” System

Muscat: The National Records and Archives Authority (NRAA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for operating and managing the electronic documents and records of “Wusool System” at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
The TRA will be the first government department to run the electronic system (Wusool) after the NRAA, as part of the first phase of the system, to be installed in 20 government departments in partnerships and cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Hamad Mohammed Al Dhoyani, Chairman of NRAA, and Eng. Omar Hamdan Al Ismaili, CEO of TRA.
The project (Wusool) constitutes a cornerstone initiative of digital transformation in the government sector. Besides enabling government departments to electronically manage their informational records—applying the latest global practices in the field, the new system will furnish a streamlined, secure environment for the data.
Dr. Hamad Al Dhoyani said that the next few months will see the propagation of the system in all target departments, once all operational requirements are finalized.
The operating MoU itself has been signed electronically via “Wusool” system, using electronic authentication certificates issued by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
