Who Can Travel To The Muscat International Airport During The Evening Curfew?
Muscat: We take a look at who can travel to the Muscat International Airport legally without incurring any fines from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for flouting the Supreme Committee’s decision imposing a ban on movement at night.
Flying during a pandemic can be a challenge, but heading to the Muscat International Airport for an outbound flight in the midst of an evening lockdown can be a trickier affair.
And as the ROP stay busy with road patrols and remote-controlled drones to catch violators, many travelling to the airport are raising concerns over the legality of moving during the curfew hours.
However, a statement issued to the public by Oman Airports states that passengers heading to the airport can do so legally, if they carry a printed copy of the confirmed flight ticket to avoid any fine for violating the night movement ban.
Oman Airports also assured that they are still continuing flight operations at the Muscat International Airport despite the movement ban.
The curfew, which came into effect on the 11th of October and continues until the 24th of October, restricts any form of movement in the public between 8:00pm and 5:00am – and those flouting the Supreme Committee’s decision will face strict punishment.
