UK’s Health Secretary Resigns Due To Scandal Over ‘Breaking Social Distancing Protocols’
London: UK’s former Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, resigned from his position after videos emerged of him being caught in a compromising position with an aide from his office.
In a letter to the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Hancock wrote that the government “owe it to people who have sacrificed so much in this pandemic to be honest when we have let them down” and doubled down on his previous apology for breaking the government guidance on social distancing from people outside a close household bubble.
He will be replaced by the former UK Chancellor, Sajid Javid – Conservative Party MP, 10 Downing Street said.
