Total Products Of Refineries In Oman Mark A Rise Of 39.2%

The total products of refineries in Oman increased by 39.3 per cent by the end of January 2023 compared to the corresponding period in 2022, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The production of standard-grade petrol (M91) surged by 58.3 per cent by the end of January 2023 to stand at 1,442,300 barrels compared to the same period in 2022. Sales of M91 fuel reached 1,135,800 barrels, comprising a rise of 21 per cent, while exports reached 198,300 barrels.

The production of petrol (M95) rose by 51.7 per cent to stand at 843,900 barrels compared to 556,300 barrels during the same period in 2022. Sales of M95 fuel dropped by 3.9 per cent to reach 943,700 barrels, while exports reached 35,000 barrels.

Gas oil (diesel) output went up by 26.5 per cent compared to the same period in 2022, to reach 2,842,200 barrels. Sales of diesel increased by 10.5 per cent to reach 1,165,900 barrels, while exports rose by 37.4 per cent to stand at 1,718,100 barrels.

As far as petrochemicals are concerned, the production and exports of polypropylene surged by 175.3 and 339.7 per cent, respectively. Sales of polypropylene dropped by 41.9 per cent by the end of January 2023 compared to the corresponding period in 2022.

Meanwhile, the production and exports of benzene rose by 36.9 per cent and 111.3 per cent, respectively. The production and exports of paraxylene surged by 111.4 per cent and 136.1 per cent, respectively, till the end of January 2023.
