Oman Rekindles Support for Global Intervention In Gaza; Denounces Israeli Military Actions

Muscat: In an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Oman – represented by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Under Secretary of The Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for Diplomatic Affairs.
The conclave was conducted via means of a video call and speaking on behalf of Oman, al Harthy reaffirmed Oman’s support for Palestine and its people, in their legitimate right to establish a Palestinian state, on the basis of the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital city.
Meanwhile, as the death toll continued to rise in the week-long conflict, The UN Security Council convened, with delays caused by the US, to find a resolution to the conflict. Commenting on the situation, The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the violence and called for an immediate cessation of violence. He also expressed his deep concern at the destruction of the building that housed the offices of the media houses AP and Al – Jazeera in the Gaza Strip.
