Oman Launches ‘Ejadah’ System To Measure Performances In Government Institutions

The Sultanate of Oman’s government will launch on Sunday [January 2, 2022] the Excellence System – Ejadah – which is designed to measure individual performance and institutional proficiency.
This system is among the main enablers for Oman Vision 2040. It comes at the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik aiming at boosting the efficiency of the State’s Administrative Apparatus.
The Ministry of Labour supervises the implementation of this system, which seeks to find the tools and standards necessary to build a culture of proficiency in job performance and improve performance measuring systems.
This can be accomplished by governance and assessment of individual performance of employees and comparing it with the key objectives and indicators of the unit.
The system covers 57 civil units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus and other public legal persons, as more than 175,000 employees in the public sector benefit from the system.
It will also contribute to achieving Oman Vision 2040 and improve the quality of government services for individuals and institutions. Consequently, it will reflect positively on boosting beneficiaries’ confidence in government units.
Additionally, the Excellence System – Ejadah – will clearly define the employee’s work tasks, create harmony between organisation’s plans and the employee’s plan, as well as enhancing the level of transparency in the distribution of work among employees, and linking incentives and rewards with the level of productivity.
