National Bank of Oman has selected the first recipient of its scholarship programme in celebration of the 45th National Day.

National Bank of Oman has selected the first recipient of its scholarship programme in celebration of the 45th National Day.
Following an extensive screening exercise, Hakima Al Hosni, a student from Al Batinah region, will be enrolled in an intensive English, Social Studies and Business undergraduate foundation programme at Bellerbys College in Brighton, UK, before she joins one of the top universities in the UK to complete her undergraduate degree. Upon graduation, Hakima will also sign an employment contract with the bank to begin a career in the financial services industry.
Mr. Ahmed Al Musalmi, CEO of NBO said: “We congratulate Hakima on being chosen as the first recipient of our special scholarship programme to mark the 45th National Day. She will now embark on an intensive programme at one of the UK’s leading language programmes, where she will develop the skills needed to enroll in a prestigious undergraduate business programme to thrive in the finance industry. We wish Hakima the best with her studies and in her future career with National Bank of Oman.”

In celebration of the 45th National Day, and in line with its commitment to the supporting the local community, National Bank of Oman announced earlier this year that it will award 15 scholarships for underprivileged students to study at some of the best universities in the UK. Additionally, it will create 25 new graduate employment roles within various divisions of the bank and give five existing employees the opportunity to study for an MBA at a top international business school.
NBO is inviting high school graduates from underprivileged families across the Sultanate (from social welfare families), with a minimum scholastic achievement of 85%, who are unemployed and looking for a long-term career with NBO, to apply for the remaining 14 university scholarships by sending an email with their documentations to watani@nbo.co.om. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre and will need to meet the university’s entry requirements to be successful.
