Majlis Ash’Shura Convenes To review Socio-Economic Topics

Muscat: The Economic and Financial Committee of Majlis Ash’shura convened for its 12th regular meeting of the second annual convening, under the chairmanship of Ahmed bin Said al-Sharqi, head of the committee, on 15th of June.
Among the topics discussed by the committee members, notable topics included the agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of income tax evasion between the Sultanate and Qatar, a proposal for boosting investments and competitiveness of the Sohar Free zone and, the draft securities law referred by the government. In addition, they discussed a proposal for amending some provisions of the tenders’ law.
Additionally, the Services and Social Development Committee held a meeting on Tuesday during which it hosted Rashid bin Ahmed al Shamsi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Adnan bin Mustafa al Farsi, from the National Committee for Family Affairs.
