KR’s Eshraqa Reveals Stemazone Calendar Theme for 2021

Muscat: With a keen eye on the future of the nation, Eshraqa, the Social Development Arm of Khimji Ramdas unveiled its 2021 calendar that showcases Stemazone – a new-age learning program.
The program will introduce and mentor kids aged between six and 16yrs in the avenues of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art.
Stemazone is being presented in a collaborative initiative with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Ministry of Education.
The vision of the program is to make children enjoy and cultivate a keen interest in these new-age topics. This will enable them to develop a scientific mindset and help develop creative thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities, critical factors in building a Knowledge-based Economy.
The calendar is a compilation of an assortment of pictures of students enthusiastically honing their skills through hands-on workshops and virtual learning experiences.
It also highlights the dedicated teaching faculty that has shown an utmost commitment to imparting quality education to the students.
Stemazone has been designed for new-age learning; it brings together the best of online learning as well as physical classroom experiences. The physical center will be housed at the Children’s museum, Qurum.
Nailesh Khimji, the Director of Khimji Ramdas said: “The youth of today is the future of our country and steering them in the right direction is our responsibility. At Khimji Ramdas, we want to play our part in powering the knowledge economy envisaged in the Oman Vision 2040.
“Aligning itself with the changing economic landscape driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Stemazone will give talented young Omanis the necessary means to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge in STEMA fields that are essential for jobs of the future.
“By dedicating a calendar to Stemazone we want to encourage others to join the journey to new-age learning.
“We also want to express our appreciation to those who have invested their time, energy, and efforts in this initiative, and we encourage them to stay dedicated.”
He further added: “Being well-versed in STEMA fields will give our youth a competitive edge when they step ahead as leaders of tomorrow. The skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience acquired in this field will be increasingly beneficial in the years to come. We will strive to ensure that our youth are ready to take on challenges, become pioneers in their fields, and spearhead revolutions.”
Focusing on children in the age group 6 to 16 years, which is considered prime for developing long-term interests, the activities are linked to the educational curriculum of the Sultanate.
It aims to help improve the scientific skills of students which are fundamental to cultivate a passion for scientific discovery and innovative problem-solving.
