In Pictures: Oman Receives First Consignment Of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine
Muscat: The first consignment of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the Sultanate this evening [December 24] through the Muscat International Airport.
The consignment includes 15,600 doses of the vaccine, and a second consignment of 28,000 doses is scheduled to arrive by early January 2021.
The Sultanate will officially commence the vaccination campaign this Sunday.
The Ministry of Health has set a vaccination strategy to cover 60 percent of the population divided into several stages. The first phase will cover 20 percent of the target rate due to the limited supply in the current period.
