HM The Sultan Issues Royal Decree Promulgating Maritime Law

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. 19/2023 on the promulgation of the Maritime Law, after presenting the same before the Council of Oman.
Article (1) states that the provisions of the Maritime Law attached to this decree shall be enforced.
Article (2) stipulates that the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology shall issue the decisions necessary for the execution of the provisions of this attached law. Till such time, the existing regulations and decisions shall continue to be enforced without prejudice to the provisions of the attached Maritime Law.
Article (3) cancels the Maritime Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 35/81 and the Law on Regulating Navigation in Regional Territorial Waters promulgated by Royal Decree No. 98/81, as well as all that contradicts the attached law or contravenes its provisions.
Article (4) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publishing.
