HM The Sultan Chairs Meeting of Covid-19 Supreme Committee

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus (Covid-19) at Al Mamourah Palace in Salalah today.
At the outset of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan gave thanks and praise to the Almighty Allah for the considerable decline in the number of Covid-19 infection cases in the Sultanate. He expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the National Immunization Strategy against this disease. His Majesty affirmed that this improvement would not have happened without the issuance of appropriate decisions (by the Covid-19 Supreme Committee) and the efforts exerted by all departments in the Sultanate, notably the health sector, as well as the high sense of responsibility shouldered by all members of society and their commitment to the decisions. The achievement is also attributed to the designated departments’ endorsing regulations that safeguarded public health—individuals and all Omani society, His Majesty added.
His Majesty the Sultan gave his Royal directives to the Supreme Committee to undertake suitable measures to tackle the pandemic in the next stage in a manner that secures public health and ensures the sustainability of tasks of all state departments.
His Majesty the Sultan also thanked the Supreme Committee for the elaborate efforts it exerted while handling the pandemic at all stages and developments. He extended his Royal thanks to all members of society—citizens and residents, to government and private establishments for providing services and healthcare in all governorates of the Sultanate.
In particular, His Majesty the Sultan valued the efforts of military and security departments to ensure the success of lockdowns, movement bans and other decisions taken to curb the spread of the disease.
His Majesty the Sultan voiced his appreciation for the role of all media establishments in spreading valid knowledge and disseminating accurate news and awareness about the disease, ways to prevent infection and means of protection against the virus.
His Majesty the Sultan also expressed his thanks to the business community and private sector firms for understanding the situation and for their collaboration in implementing precautionary measures to stem the disease.
His Majesty the Sultan urged all people to take the vaccines against Covid-19 in line with the programme set for that purpose. He also exhorted all to keep up the commitment to the decisions and regulations endorsed by the Covid-19 Supreme Committee to shield public health and protect individuals and society.
May the Almighty Allah protect His Majesty the Sultan and guard him as a symbol of pride to this nation and may He perpetuate the bounties of progress and prosperity in Oman under His Majesty the Sultan’s wise leadership.
