F&M signs contract with Qatar-based ASTAD

Oman’s leading Design Consultants, F&M Middle East Engineering Consultancy, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Qatar-based Project Management Consultants, ASTAD. The MoU not only not only paves the way for joint strategic objectives towards delivering projects but also extends mutual business opportunities in engineering consultancy, construction management, design and project management.
Held at the F&M ME office in Muscat, which also serves as the regional headquarters of the firm, the signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Ali Al-Khalifa, ASTAD CEO; Abdulaziz Al Mulla, ASTAD International General Manager; Ahmad Khudairi, Senior Business Development Manager, ASTAD; Raed Asad, Business Development Manager, ASTAD; Hazem Abdul Karim, CEO, F&M ME; and Salim Ba Omar, F&M ME Partner in Oman.
Elaborating on the MoU, Engineer Ali Al-Khalifa, CEO, ASTAD stated: “This MoU allows us to collaboratively deliver expert design and project management services not just in Qatar, but internationally. ASTAD and F&M are specialists in our respective fields and markets and this MoU will support the continued growth and success of our companies.”
According to Hazem Abdul Karim, CEO, F&M ME: “ASTAD and F&M have worked hand-in-hand on multiple projects since 2010. We have also jointly participated on tenders here in Oman. This MoU further cements our working relationship and will serve as a value-add for our clients in Oman and in the region.”
Salim Ba Oman, F&M’s Partner in Oman stated: “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is a momentous step forward in the delivery of world class consultancy services and the management of large scale projects in the Sultanate. The success that the partnership between Oman Arab Consulting Office, local practice, and F&M, an international consulting firm operating in the Sultanate for more than 8 years, in developing engineering practices in Oman has been strategic and has allowed today’s development to come into fruition. This agreement with ASTAD Project Management will set the benchmark for the promotion of the highest standards of services in Oman and the improvement of all aspects of design and engineering.”
