European Cybersecurity Month: Nixu promotes cybersecurity awareness with a free program

October is again the European Union’s annual Cybersecurity Month, providing organizations and individuals with an excellent opportunity to increase their cybersecurity awareness and practical skills. This year, the Cybersecurity Month program focuses on two important themes: how to identify cyber scams and improve digital skills.
Keeping the digital society running
Nixu is taking part in the European Cybersecurity Month by offering free webinars and various training materials to the public on its website. The Cybersecurity Month will also feature strongly on Nixu’s social media channels.
Digital emergencies require cybersecurity exercise
As companies have moved to remote work during the pandemic and society increasingly relies on digital channels and online services, the importance of cyber resilience and preparedness continues to grow.
What would happen and how you would you respond if a serious cyber incident took your organization by surprise? Would you even be able to continue your business operations without your digital business applications? Have you prepared for different situations by exercising or making business continuity plans?
These questions are valid for all types of organizations, as an organization prepared for cyber incidents recovers faster and more efficiently. Business continuity assurance is a competitiveness factor that ensures recovery in the event of extensive security incidents in digital platforms and enables operational continuity in the future.
”Most organizations are selected as targets for cybercrime due to inadequate cybersecurity. Instead of falling into gloom, however, this can also be seen as an opportunity. Cybersecurity can be significantly improved by raising the cybersecurity awareness of management and personnel, identifying the risks in the digital operating environment, and – with the support of a cybersecurity partner – focusing especially on issues that have the greatest impact on the organization’s operations,” says Petri Kairinen, Nixu CEO.
”In cybersecurity, it is critical to start the planning from the actual threats and the company’s business operations. This ensures that investments in cyber defense are directed at the areas critical for the business and the real threats they are exposed to,” Kairinen explains.
