Education Ministry Signs Cooperation Agreement With PDO, GUtech

The Ministry of Education today signed a cooperation agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and the German University of Technology (GUtech) to train around 70 students from PDO concession areas.
The students will first join a training programme codenamed “Maarifa” (Knowledge) and then get further training through the “Taazeez” (Enhance) programme. They constitute the second batch of trainees under this two-stage training system.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Al Ghareebi, External Affairs and Communication Manager at PDO, and Dr. Hussain Al Salmi, Deputy Rector for Administration and Finances at GUtech.
Acting in cooperation with PDO, the Ministry of Education will oversee the selection of 70 students (male and female) to enrol in “Maarifa” (Knowledge), the academic summer programme.
Through this programme, the students will obtain academic and proficiency skills and participate in a set of extracurricular activities.
Once the students complete “Maarifa”, twenty-five of them will be selected to join a 4-week training session under the “Taazeez” (Enhance) programme, which will be conducted in the United Kingdom in 2024.
