COVID-19: How To Book A Hotel For Institutional Quarantine Using ‘Sahala’ Portal In Oman?
Muscat: With institutional quarantine in full effect in the Sultanate, passengers arriving at the airports must now book their hotel stay using the ‘Sahala’ portal.
Booking via the Sahala portal was made mandatory from 2:00 pm on March 29, 2021, after the Ministry of Health and Royal Oman Police reportedly cracked down on people flouting institutional quarantine protocols.
Enforced by the Ministry of Health, the Sahala portal has been developed by the Relief and Shelter Sector of the Ministry of Social Development in collaboration with other competent authorities.
Here’s how you can book a hotel if you are arriving in Oman:
Step 1: Head to www.covid19.emushrif.om
Step 2: Click on ‘Travel Forms’
Step 3: Click on ‘Hotel’ for making a new booking.
Alternatively, you can confirm your booking with Sahala if you made your booking before March 29, 2021. People whose companies will provide institutional quarantine can register with the online form using their Civil ID or Passport Number.
Step 4: Click on ‘Agree to the refund policy of the PCR test’ to proceed further
Step 5: Begin finding hotels
You can begin finding hotels now. To begin the process:
- Enter the number of adults you want to accomodate
- Enter number of children you want to accomodate
- Add check-in time (date and time of entry to Oman)
- Pick the Governorate where you want to be quarantined in
- Select price range (Prices range selector begins from RO15 to RO56+ per day*)
Step 6: Select the hotel of your preference
Step 7: Enter the details of the travellers
Passengers must include their Civil ID or Passport number, given names, last name, nationality, gender, and date of birth.
Additional information includes journey details: Entry type (airport, sea port or road), point of entry, date of arrival, and country of arrival.
A contact number and email must also be published.
Step 8: Begin payment procedures
- Pay for PCR test and wristband.
- Pay for hotel booking (debit and credit cards are accepted)
Note: Avoid using a VPN.
Step 9: Take a printout or keep a screenshot of the final confirmation on your phone.
Note: It is mandatory for passengers entering the Sultanate via land, sea, and air borders to download both the eMushrif and Tarassud+ apps from the app store.
