Asyad Group Announces Start of Operations for Khazaen Dry Port
Asyad Group, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), announced the commencement of Khazaen Dry Port (KDP) operations as a customs bonded dry port.
The Dry Port, which is internationally identified with the code ‘OMKDP’, is ready to serve customers and facilitate imports, exports, and storage activities of all general cargo and containers through efficient logistics solutions.
Located in Barka, it will also play a pivotal role in bolstering trade across the Sultanate of Oman.

Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Abri, CEO of Asyad Ports, said: “Khazaen Dry Port is an exciting addition to Oman’s trade operations, cementing its position as a global logistics hub as it serves as an important link between seaports, land and air ports.
“Shipping lines can use KDP as a port of origin and port of destination and issue through bills of lading for importers and exporters to clear containers and cargo.”
He added: “The start of operations will raise the efficiency of logistics in the Sultanate and contribute to reducing the total cost of cargo movement and storage while alleviating congestion at the level of seaports and land ports.”
The 250,000 sqm Dry Port is equipped with modern infrastructure to manage all kinds of handling equipment for storage containers and general cargo, as well as international trade and customs services through its one-stop station.
The port will also start ‘bonded haulage’ of containers and cargo under customs seal, which will benefit importers and exporters by bringing the service to their doorstep.
Khazaen Dry Port Company was established in partnership between Asyad Ports and private sector companies, Khimji Ramdas Group, Al Madina Logistics and Mubadarah. Construction operations began in June 2020 on an initial area of 100,000 square meters, with plans in place to expand to an area of 150,000 square meters over the next five years.
