Landmark Group to open outlets in Muscat Grand Mall
Dubai-based conglomerate Landmark Group will bring a number of its top brands including BabyShop, Splash, Lifestyle, Max, Shoexpress, Steve Madden and Carpisa, to the new expanded space at Muscat Grand Mall
Marking a strategic collaboration in the Sultanate’s retail landscape, Muscat Grand Mall has signed an agreement with Dubai-based multinational conglomerate, Landmark Group for a numbers of flagship outlets located in the new mall expansion.
The agreement was sealed at an official signing ceremony held at Muscat Grand Mall attended by Hassan Jaboub, general manager of Tilal Development Company, and Clive Freeman, chief operating officer of Landmark Group. Under the purview of this agreement, Landmark Group will operate outlets of some of its most popular brands in the Mall; these will include BabyShop, Splash, Lifestyle, Max, Shoexpress, Steve Madden and Carpisa.
Hassan Jaboub, general manager of Tilal Development Company, said: “This is a very exciting time for us at Muscat Grand Mall. With the expansion of the Mall and added retail space as a result, MGM will draw new and internationally prominent flagship stores of the world’s most renowned brands, such as those in Landmark Group’s portfolio – thereby expanding the wide array of choices available to our customers.”
“Today’s agreement marks a significant milestone for us at Muscat Grand Mall, as we join hands with one of the largest retailers in the Middle East – Landmark Group. We are confident that with the new brands that will be brought in by this partnership, not only will footfalls grow but Muscat Grand Mall will truly become the nucleus of all events and activities within Oman.”
With the second phase of expansion, Muscat Grand Mall is adding additional space and a new perspective for shoppers in the Sultanate. The growth plans also include doubling the parking space area which has already been opened to public and expanding the entertainment options in order to deliver a truly world-class shopping and entertainment destination in the Sultanate.
Commenting on the association, Clive Freeman, chief operating officer of Landmark Group commented, “It gives us great pleasure to partner with Muscat Grand Mall – one of the most eagerly anticipated shopping destinations in the Sultanate. The Landmark Group is strategically expanding its presence across Oman, and this partnership will enable us to bring our offering even closer to our customers. We are proud to bring six of our most popular brands to the new, expanded space at the mall.”
Following the completion of the expansion, Muscat Grand Mall will house new retail outlets, bringing more global brands to Oman for the first time and increasing the total number of stores, as well as providing more parking spaces for visitors.
Hassan Jaboub also shared, “The expansion will also have a positive impact on job creation. New brands entering the market and new stores opening translate to new employment opportunities for Omanis. The chance to work at Oman’s pioneering retail destination is a very exciting prospect indeed.”
Muscat Grand Mall is located within the Tilal Complex in Bausher and has gained a reputation as a world class project and a premiere retail and lifestyle destination. Given the continuing growth in tourist visitors to the Sultanate, and the upcoming Muscat International Airport, projects such as the Grand Millennium Muscat Hotel and the residential complex by Tilal Development Company have pioneered the concept of mixed-use developments and are well placed to capitalize on the increasing demand for quality retail and lifestyle destinations in Oman.
Founded in 1973 in Bahrain, the Landmark Group has successfully grown into one of the largest and most successful retail organisations in the Middle East, Africa and Indian Subcontinent. An international, diversified retail and hospitality conglomerate that encourages entrepreneurship to consistently deliver exceptional value, the Group operates over 2,400 outlets encompassing over 30 million square feet across the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent.
Recently, as part of the third extension phase of the mall, an additional 500 new car parking spaces were added in order to accommodate more visitors. The new parking area is connected with the mall via fully covered and air conditioned tubes to enable mall visitors to access the mall easily and with comfort. The mall visitors who park in the new parking will also be provided with an opportunity to receive a free cleaning service for their cars.
Muscat Grand Mall is Oman’s most dynamic shopping destination and recipient of the MENA ICSC Award for marketing excellence. It is the fastest growing lifestyle hub in the Sultanate offering choice and convenience for shoppers and residents, as part of a combined leisure experience. Boasting a three-screen cinema, high-end residences and office space, in addition to hosting the largest food court in Oman, Muscat Grand Mall also recently celebrated its fourth anniversary of operations in Muscat. As one of the most popular retails outlets in the Sultanate, it will also soon be home to leading global brands such as Amani, Burger Joint, Oud Milan, Fishhoek and Abdul Samad Al Qarashi among others – which will be opening their doors very soon.
