11 Startups Complete Sas Accelerator Program Through Virtual Demo Day

Muscat: The Sas Accelerator’s second cohort, organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, through Sas Center for Entrepreneurship in partnership with Google for Startups, concluded yesterday.
The demo day was hosted as a virtual event that showcased the startups’ growth and refined products.
Twenty-one international and 17 local mentors worked to support the participating startups to further develop their products, increase overall market share, and raise investment readiness through 43 sessions and 53 hours of one-to-one consultations.
The accelerator, powered by Google for Startups, focused on design, thinking and founder development, technology oversight, marketing outlook, business growth, financial management and investment readiness, as well as communication and pitching capabilities.
On this occasion, Hamood Al Hamadan, Director of Sas Center for Entrepreneurship at MTCIT commented: “Through our partnership with Google for Startups, we at Sas Center for Entrepreneurship strive to run technology specialized accelerators that can boost the startup ecosystem to have leap growth and [to] fast track their capabilities as they endeavor in their journey.
“We are delighted to witness the startups’ growth and skills development over their exposure to a wide range of expertise and anticipate to see the 11 startups expand locally and regionally. We would also like to thank the UK Oman Digital Hub for their contribution to the Sas Accelerator.”
Out of 27 applications, 11 established tech startups joined the five-week intensive program that was hosted between 6 September and 10 October.
During the virtual demo day, those startups showcased their ideas and products, which varied between delivery services, shipping and transportation, agricultural and commercial product ordering services, in addition to file and web page management and development, project management, and follow-up.
