Here are five things you probably did not about Muscat’s latest entertainment venue:
#1. First luxury offering in the Middle East
Cinépolis Premium Auditoriums in Oman are the first of its kind in the Middle East. These offer a premium service for those who like to enjoy the finer things in life. There are four luxury screens, which include 180-degree leather reclining seats, Maitre d’ call buttons and adjustable tables.
#2. There’s a butler service!
The luxury offering includes a menu which will be served at your seat via their on-demand butler service!
From starters like fish tacos and loaded fries to main course like their signature Wagyu burger, and pan-seared ribeye steak… enjoy a fine dining experience unlike any other.
A selection of delectable Arabic-inspired desserts also feature on the menu, including milk cake and cardamom cheesecake.

#4. …And a jungle gym!
A truly holistic experience for the children, the play area in Cinépolis Junior features a colourful jungle gym and a ball pit.
#5. Screens triple the size of ordinary cinemas
The Macro XE auditorium with Dolby Atmos surround sound has screens triple the size of ordinary cinema screens. For the uninitiated, Macro XE is Cinépolis’ own large format screen, boasting more than 170 m² of display.
According to Ashish Shukla, CEO of Cinépolis Gulf, “We know how much the community in Muscat loves movies, and we are relishing the opportunity to present a wonderful cinema experience that can be enjoyed by all. The launch of the first luxury offering for Cinépolis Cinema in Oman is a milestone for the brand and we are honoured to bring our world-class offering to Muscat.”

Another cinematic experience that catapults Cinépolis Cinemas ahead of the competition is the state-of-the-art 4D E-motion experience. The immersive theatre format allows cinema lovers to “live” the movie thanks to motion seats and outstanding special effects such as wind, water, seat vibration, smell and air shots all perfectly synchronized with the action on the screen.
In the GCC, the international chain opened its first theatre in Bahrain in January 2019 and two in Oman, in May and September 2019. The chain also announced six new locations in Saudi Arabia, which will open over the next 18-months.
