Port of Salalah claims top spot in ESO’S 4th annual Eco-Bowl

Port of Salalah triumphed with a score of 1475 points over two games to win the Environment Society of Oman’s (ESO) annual bowling competition.

Port of Salalah triumphed with a score of 1475 points over two games to win the Environment Society of Oman’s (ESO) annual bowling competition. Held at the Al Masa bowling alley, 11 teams from Oman’s private sector joined members of ESO for the 4th edition of the competition, which was organized to raise funds in support of the society’s projects.
HSBC won second place with 1281 points, Ooredoo had to settle for third with a score of 1234. Christian Francisco from Ooredoo awarded the highest striker with a total of 13 strikes over the two games. Other participating teams included Asha Enterprises LLC, Enhance Oman, Services & Trade, Renaissance Services, Oman Arab Bank, Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (Be’ah), Port of Duqm and Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC. All funds raised for the event will go to the society’s outreach, awareness, conservation and ambassadorship programmes.
HH Sayyida Tania Al Said, ESO president, said, “Since our establishment, the generosity of our donors has played a major role in our efforts to support the environment. On behalf of ESO, I would like to express my thanks to all participating parties for their continuous support. We look forward to continue reaching out to the local community and building on the capacity of Omani youth to be the flagbearers of the nation’s future environmental conservation efforts.”
Ajab Ali Salim Fadhil, Port of Salalah Team Captain, said, “This event successfully brought together companies to network and deepen their support for the sustainability and conservation initiatives that are tackling challenges the nation is facing. Port of Salalah and all of us gathered here tonight are firm believers in ESO’s efforts to preserve the Sultanate’s natural treasures. We will continue to strengthen our collective bond to reinforce the collaborative efforts and initiatives that will play a key role in conserving Oman for another generation.”
The event was supported by Sarco, Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Trishna and TRACCS.
