Al Khaleel group to build Ramada hotel in Muscat

Al Khaleel Group, a leading trading and contracting company in Oman, has assigned the construction of Ramada Encore to Al Rawahi International. Al Khaleel Group had recently tied-up with the world-renowned Wyndham Hotel Group to launch two new hotels in the Sultanate under ‘Ramada’ brand name, according to a press release.
To further this tie-up, a signing ceremony was held recently at Muscat between Al Khaleel Group and Al Rawahi International for the construction of Ramada Encore, a three-star hotel as Phase 1 of this prestigious project. The construction period is 16 months for the hotel, which has 140 deluxe rooms and 24 suites. State-of-the-art business facilities, leisure amenities, a rooftop cafe and pool as well as male and female fitness centres are other attractions of the property.
Ramada Encore will be strategically located along Sultan Qaboos main road in Al Ghubrah, a short distance from Muscat International Airport, nearby shopping centres and Oman’s renowned Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. With all-day dining restaurants and coffee lounge, the hotel will not only be the first Ramada Encore to open in Oman, but will also be the largest of its kind across the Middle East and Africa.
“The Ramada Encore project is a reflection of Al Khaleel Group’s vision to contribute to Omanisation, the tourism industry as well as the overall economy of Oman. We are very excited because this signing ceremony represents the establishment of the biggest Ramada Encore in the Middle East and Africa,” said, Sheikh Jehad bin Mohammed Al Khalili, deputy managing director (project director), Al Khaleel Group.
“The collaboration with Al Rawahi International brings much value to this project due to their vast and long years of experience in the construction of similar projects in hospitality,” he added.
Al Rawahi International, a leading contracting firm in the country, is the main construction partner for the project.
“We have already completed several projects for international brands and look forward to extending our attractive hospitality portfolio with new partner, Al Khaleel Group. As a construction company, we are committed to delivering value,” said, Ameet Hirani, executive director at Al Rawahi International.
“Our forthcoming developments will undoubtedly demonstrate that bolstering tourism assets will bring a range of benefits to local businesses and the wider community,” he added.
In Phase 2 of the project, a four-star Ramada Hotel and Suites is envisaged. It will be located next to the Ramada Encore and inter-connected by a footbridge. Ramada Hotel & Suites Muscat will offer contemporary accommodation across 90 high-end suites and share its leisure facilities with those at the Ramada Encore.
Established in 1991, Al Khaleel Group is a diversified trading and contracting business house. It endeavours to be a dominant player in the market in the spheres of its core activities such as building materials, property management, real estate development, hospitality industry and property maintenance by providing value-added services to its clients and partners.
