Open-top driving fun in the world’s only premium convertible in the small car segment has advanced to the next stage. The new MINI Convertible is now on sale in showrooms acorss the Middle East. The open-top 4-seater went on sale at importer showrooms this week – with elegantly stretched lines and a noticeable increase in sporty flair, the matured product substance of the new MINI generation is avaialble in two engine variants: Cooper S and Cooper.
The new MINI Convertible is presented with a wide range of exclusive equipment features for open-air pleasure. Its fully automatic soft top is purely electrically powered and is also available as a MINI Yours roof complete with unique integrated Union Jack graphics. Options include the Always Open Timer, a concept which allows drivers to track how long they drive with the roof down; automatic air conditioning with convertible mode, and the MINI Connected rain warning function. In order to ensure that driving fun on the sunny side is both agile and safe, there is cutting-edge drive and suspension technology, an extremely rigid body structure and the now fully integrated rollover protection. Additionally, the exclusive and elegant model comes equipped with a 3-in-1 convertible top where the vehicle roof can be up, down or used as a sunroof, opening a gap of ca. 40 cm to let the breeze in. Quick and quiet, the electircal mechanism opens the hood in less than 20 seconds, even when driving. Its fully automatic soft top – purely electrically powered for the first time – is also available as a MINI Yours roof complete with unique integrated Union Jack graphic.
The MINI Convertible exterior design comprise a balance between top-class elegance and sporty flair. Maintaining the classic MINI design features, the MINI Convertible is further enhanced with circular headlamps and rear lights with chrome surrounds, hexagonal radiator grille, black peripheral body surround, side turn indicator elements and a large selection of body finishes including the variant of Caribbean Aqua metallic that is being presented here for the first time.
The interior is designed with horizontally structured cockpit, circular or elliptical contours for displays, air vents and door trim elements as well as high-quality colour and material combinations on the steering column, central instrument with new functions, optional LED lighting display and a start/stop button at the toggle switch bar. Sophisticated in more ways than one, the all-new MINI Convertible is also smart when it comes to space. It now boasts a 215-litre boot, which grows to even more with the seats down. The Easy Load Function also pushes up the roof base to make getting your stuff in and out a lot easier.

The all-new MINI Convertible comes in two engine variants of MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology where there is a 3-cylinder petrol engine with 100 kW/136 hp for the MINI Cooper Convertible and a 4-cylinder petrol engine with 141 kW/192 hp for the MINI Cooper S Convertible, alongside with options of 6-speed Steptronic transmission or 6-speed Steptronic sports transmission.
The second John Cooper Works model of the latest generation will additionally arrive to showrooms across the Middle East in September, 2016. The model combines engine and suspension technology optimised for use on the race track with distinctive design and equipment features as well as the extensively refined qualities of the new MINI Convertible.
