Bin Mirza International signed a franchise agreement with wagamama, the UK-based award-winning pan Asian restaurant, to bring its Japanese style cuisine to the Sultanate for the very first time. The move makes wagamama the seventh to join BMI’s ever-expanding portfolio of international brands as part of the company’s efforts to bring unique dining concepts to Oman.
Wagamama, which means ‘naughty child’ or ‘one who is willful and determined’ in Japanese, is renowned for its noodle-inspired authentic dishes that cater to a wide variety of tastes. Oman residents and visitors will be invited to take a seat at the renowned wagamama canteen-style benches and enjoy a variety of new and classic dishes from the seasonal menu – all served by friendly staff in atmospheric surroundings
Jannat Moosa, Marketing Director at BMI, said, “We are delighted to join hands with wagamama to bring its highly acclaimed meals and concepts to Oman. Directly influenced by the delectable ramen stalls of Japan, the restaurant provides customers with a feel-good experience that is tailor-made for people on the go such as shoppers and workers looking to refuel. With a wide variety of food ranging from rapid ramen to curries and vegetarian meals, there will be something for everyone when wagamama makes its debut in Oman next year.”
Simon Cope, Global Brand Director at wagamama said: “Our approach with regards to franchising has been to look for partners that have the right mix of experience and success with great restaurants. BMI is a perfect fit, a trusted name in the business associated with bringing exceptional dining concepts to live. I look forward to adding Oman to the list of addresses where our signature Japanese-style cuisine is served.”
The new signing comes as part and parcel of BMI’s ambitious expansion strategy, which has seen the company open high quality brands across Oman. Other BMI franchises include British candy connectionists Spun Candy, Canadian based Second Cup cafes and CinnZeo bakeries, in addition to boutique bakery BreadTalk, Steak Escape Grill, and Nando’s from South Africa.
