Refillable ink tank printers
Canon Middle East unveiled three new printers – the PIXMA G1400, PIXMA G2400 and PIXMA G3400 – all capable of printing up to 7,000 colour and 6,000 black pages from a single set of ink bottles. Featuring Canon’s brand new genuine Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS), each printer uses refillable ink tanks to offer volume printing that significantly reduces ongoing ink expenditure. For offices where high yield printing is the norm, or home users who enjoy printing all their best photographs, these printers offer genuine value and low cost printing, with an unrivalled page number output for ultimate productivity. Canon genuine pigment black and dye colour inks also ensures your prints are exceptionally high quality, with crisp, sharp text and vibrant colours.
Stacked CMOS image sensor
Sony Corporation has the commercialisation of a new Exmor RS image sensor for smartphones and other devices that require increasingly better cameras and thinner form factors. The IMX318 is a type 1/2.6 stacked CMOS image sensor with 22.5 effective megapixels, and it boasts a more compact size, greater image quality, and higher performance. This new Exmor RS is the industry’s first to be equipped with built-in high-speed hybrid autofocus, as fast as 0.03 seconds, and built-in 3-axis electronic image stabilisation technology for video. Sony aims to begin shipments for this new CMOS image sensor in May, 2016. The IMX318 boasts a stacked structure and the industry’s smallest unit pixels, which measure 1.0µm (micrometres) in size. With this, the image sensor achieves a compact, type 1/2.6 size suitable for inclusion into smartphones, while still realising a high resolution of 22.5 effective megapixels, among the top in the industry.
Run to the rhythm with Smart B-Trainer
Sony launched the new Smart B-Trainer, an all-in-one training device and application that literally motivates your exercise regime with its range of features, such as intelligent music playback based on heart rate monitoring, various training plans, and real time voice coaching. Developed with the modern runner in mind, the Smart B-Trainer comes in a neckband-style housing, and is non-slip to provide you the freedom to run as you like. This sports companion integrates Sony’s latest audio advancements with the latest sensor and software technologies to provide a holistic exercise experience. It consists of the SSE-BTR1 headphone-integrated device that is packed with six types of sensors – heart rate, acceleration, GPS, compass, gyro and barometer – and measures as well as records 11 types of running logs – heart rate, burned calories, distance, time, speed, pace, cadence, steps, stride, running route and elevation.
