Thai Trade Exhibition 2019: A Preview
1 October 2019 marked the first day of the currently ongoing Thai Trade Exhibition at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The fourth installment of the event promises to bring together over 100 businesses, beauty products, fashion accessories, food and beverage stations, health and wellness, and more.
Since its inception in 2016 the high-profile tradeshow stands as one of the leading exhibitions that showcases top brands from Thailand. An amalgamation of participations makes it the most preferred expos for both casual visitors and tradesmen alike.
Business Live Middle East, managed to have a quick word at the sidelines with the event organiser, Akavut (Tony) Tangsilikusonwong, CEO & Founder of VEGA Intertrade & Exhibitions LLC.
Furthering Bilateral Relations
“Our main motivation is to cement cooperation and correlation between Oman and Thailand,” explains Tony of VEGA Intertrade & Exhibitions. “The exhibition aims to provide both businesspeople and visitors insights into the latest Thai products and services available to the people of Oman.”
Thailand has always been a popular tourist destination among both Oman citizens and residents alike. “…And so we brought Thailand to here,” adds Tony.
While, there are a multitude of experiences for visitors to enjoy, the Thai Trade Exhibition offers tradespeople opportunities to network and interact with Thai exporters, SME owners, and entrepreneurs to further their business ambitions.
Apropos this, a business matching event was held at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), according to a media release. “With over 100 businesses and organizations to illustrate their products and services, the event is a ringing endorsement of the strength of the business communities in both Oman and Thailand. We expect it to help businesses network, and provide attendees with the opportunity to establish long-lasting business relationships.”
Promoting Medical Tourism
A key component in this year’s exhibition is medical tourism. With the initiative and support of TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand), the show includes a special zone for Thailand medical tourism. A total of eight professional hospitals focus on educating people about medical care facilities in Thailand.
Visitors also get a chance for a free health checkup at the medical zone.
“We already have a sizeable influx of medical tourists not only from Oman but across the Middle East,” says Tony. “And we expect the numbers to grow further.”
