OER-BLME’s Economic Webinar on how to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on companies from a strategic, operational, organisational and financial perspective, will take place on Monday, April 27 at 10 am (Oman time).
Powered by Oman Arab Bank (OAB), Dhofar Insurance Company and OCTAL, the webinar on “Tackling Economic Disruption and Business Risk,” will have an eminent panel of speakers – His Highness Dr Adham Turki Al Said, Assistant Professor of Economics, SQU and Managing Partner at The Firm for Business and Economic Consulting, Pankaj Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas Group, Stephen R Thomas, CEO, Renaissance Services and Majid bin Sultan Al Toky, Chairman, Dhofar Insurance Company. Mayank Singh, Group Editor and Director-Business Operations at United Media Services (UMS), will moderate the webinar.
With business owners and CEOs across the globe yet to come to terms with the reality that business will be anything but normal over the coming months due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the webinar will discuss business disruption caused by COVID-19 and its implications, devising a business continuity plan from a strategic and financial perspective, negotiating shifts in the competitive and regulatory environment.
Companies also need to plan for ‘what next’ in terms of a return to scale as the post COVID-19 scenario unfolds and the after effects of the pandemic become clearer. Reimagining the new normal and reforming in line with a shift in the regulatory and competitive environment is another imperative. The webinar will chart a turnaround roadmap for companies in the next two quarters of 2020.
