Celebrating enterprising young Omanis

While we celebrate the graduation of the first batch of this programme, there is a second batch of about 200 job seekers in interviews and at the evaluation stage, in preparation for joining the programme.
The Company’s efforts to create more job and training opportunities does not stop at the Oil and Gas industry, but also crosses into other sectors; recently the company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Omani Contractors Association, by which both parties will collaborate in seeking to promote Omanisation through training, direct employment in the Construction sector. This is one of the promising industries that can accommodate large numbers of job seekers.
We look forward to working with the Association of Omani Contractors to move forward in this important programme in support of Omanisation in the country.
I am pleased to take advantage of this occasion to extend my thanks to the Managing Director of PDO, Raoul Restucci, for his vision and guidance in driving the overall National Objectives programme in general, and the welding programme in particular.
I would like to thank RAY Institute and all its management and teaching staff for their dedication and perseverance in the training of these young people and follow-up in their development on a daily basis.
I also thank PDO’s technical team, that has had a role in the development of the programme, as well as design specifications and standards for equipment used in training, as well as their support to the Institute in technical matters.
Our thanks go as well to the Rabab-Harweel project team, who took the lead, and selected high Omanisation ratio in the welding area of about 400 jobs. The graduates can now work in this project, and other mega projects.
I also offer my sincere thanks to all my colleagues in the National Objectives team, our contractors, and the Ministry of Manpower officials, for their efforts in the success of this important programme.
