His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said has on numerous occasions called upon the private sector to play its rightful role in job creation, diversifying the economy, serving society and working with the government and civil society to promote overall welfare of the citizens. In light of this, the topic of OER Business Summit 2018 is – ‘Private sector as a key enabler in boosting sustainable development – Vision 2040’.
Oman’s Vision 2040 targets 3 core developmental pillars: People & Society; Economy & Development; Governance & Institutional Performance – and it will impact the direction of the national economy over the next two decades. The event will be attended by key personnel from the relevant ministries and government bodies, and senior executives from the public and private sectors and leaders of industry bodies.
