Oman Oil joins hands with Taawon to launch Majalis Al Ata
Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) joined hands with the Omani Network of Volunteers (Taawon), to launch ‘Majalis Al Ata’, a specialized program designed to hone the capabilities and capacities of administrators in over 10 charitable organizations across the Sultanate.
Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) joined hands with the Omani Network of Volunteers (Taawon), to launch ‘Majalis Al Ata’, a specialized program designed to hone the capabilities and capacities of administrators in over 10 charitable organizations across the Sultanate. The year-long program will deliver a series of workshops on Planning and Organizational Management, Volunteer Program Management and Human Resource Management, providing industry best practices and insights on how to enhance the service offering within the non-for-profit entities.
An agent of change and development, omanoil has over the past decade, dedicated its recourses to spearhead community-centric programs and initiatives that have generated sustainable social, environmental and economic returns. The ‘Majalis Al Ata’ program represents an extension to its unwavering commitment to Oman and its people and promises even greater future rewards.
“A home-grown establishment, we consider ourselves a partner in the Sultanate’s socio-economic growth and always ensure that our ambition and objectives are directed towards the development of Oman,” explained Jaber Sulaiman Al Busaidi, Corporate Affairs Manager at Oman Oil Marketing Company. “Taawon, as a network of volunteers, has access to a pool of professional and expert individuals from various disciplines spread across the country. Founded on these valuable resources, ‘Majalis Al Ata’ will create a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration that will ultimately result in the advancement of key associations in Oman.”
Participating organizations in the program include the Omani Association for Elderly Friends, the Oman Road Safety Association, the Al Noor Association for the Blind, the Oman Autism Society, the Oman Association for Consumer Protection, the Oman Diabetes Association, the Early Intervention Center for Children with Disability as well as the Omani Women Associations in Seeb, Muscat, Qurum and Qurayat.
Established in 2010, Taawon today has over 7,500 registered trained volunteers working hand-in-hand to raise awareness on the importance of volunteerism and social responsibility. Speaking at the launch of ‘Majalis Al Ata’, Mariam Al Hashmi, Program Supervisor highlighted the importance of this platform in training and developing volunteer associations in Oman. She explained that in addition to the workshops, the team will be conducting site visits to the various organizations to provide specialized consultation. The first workshop on Planning and Organizational Management was completed following the launch, with the second and third scheduled to be held in June and September of this year.
omanoil works tirelessly to instill a culture of social responsibility that goes beyond the company walls. To date, the company’s social initiatives, include road safety programs, environmental protection and awareness campaigns, blood donation drives, and fuel station safety schemes, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life of people in the Sultanate.
