Intisaar Al Kindi Appointed as GM Upstream & Deputy Country Chair at Oman Shell

Oman Shell has welcomed Intisaar Al Kindi as General Manager Upstream and Deputy Country Chair.
An industry veteran, Al Kindi will lead the integrated delivery of the upstream business including land access, wells, infrastructure, and other major projects. She is also set to support Oman Shell’s ’In-Country Value (ICV) agenda which is focused on advancing the Sultanate’s economic development and diversification.
Al Kindi’s appointment comes as the company is pursuing a major transition into upstream operatorship following the interim upstream agreement that was signed with the Omani Government earlier this year.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining Oman Shell as we embark on new projects,” said Al Kindi. “It is an honour to be at the helm of our upstream ventures and supporting the company’s growth and diversification which will lend to a prosperous future for Oman. I look forward to joining my colleagues and many of our external partners and stakeholders to bring about shared value for this country and Shell.”
Al Kindi, who previously held the role of Exploration Director for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and was a member of its Executive Committee, will also be creating a milestone for Oman Shell as its highest-ranking Omani female.
In line with the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to foster the development of women, she joins several Omani women in leadership positions at Shell in Oman. This is also part of Shell’s commitment to female empowerment, for which it has been listed in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women.
