As part of its commitment to community and empowering the next generation of young Omanis, Al Mouj Muscat, a public-private venture between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Properties, has donated a number of new tablets as interactive learning devices to Baraka bint Thalaba government school.

The new devices will enable a more dynamic and collaborative teaching environment within the school’s English Learning Centre for students in grades 10-12. Al Mouj Muscat’s donation is in line with the community’s mission to support education as a key pillar for stakeholder engagement and economic growth in Oman.

“Within the halls of our school, we are educating the future decision-makers of Oman, and it is key for organisations like Al Mouj Muscat to contribute to this goal within our community,” said Saada Muhsin AlMafraji, Principal at Baraka bint Thalaba government school. “Technology has tremendous power to inspire young minds, and we appreciate the contribution and support to learning that Al Mouj Muscat has made.”

Educators globally have highlighted the advantages to technology-enabled learning, including greater self-led research and problem-solving scenarios, as well as access to a wider base of updated, real-time educational resources online.

“Young Omanis are highly engaged with technology and these tablets can empower and elevate their learning experiences within the educational landscape,” said Nasser bin Masoud Al Sheibani, CEO of Al Mouj Muscat. “Al Mouj Muscat continues to seek opportunities to engage with our wider community, support the next generation of Oman’s innovators, and use technology to create more opportunity for them.”

Educational and community engagement is a vital aspect of Al Mouj Muscat’s corporate social responsibility focus, which also includes sustainability and environmental issues among other causes which impact residents within the Integrated Tourism Complex.
