Oman’s Housing Ministry Goes Big On Digital Transformation; Begins Trial Run Of ‘Amlak’ Platform

The Sultanate’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning is fast-tracking its digital transformation journey with a four-month trial launch of the ‘Amlak’ platform.

Now in its early stages, the online government platform will include a total of 59 electronic services to provide integrated digital services for ease and convenience.

Designed and developed to be a comprehensive software system, ‘Amlak’, will work around the clock and even on official holidays. It will include services in real estate, land registry, urban planning, geographic information, real estate development, social housing, and other projects.

The platform will target Omanis, GCC citizens, residents, investors, companies, government agencies, and real estate brokerage offices – and will also aim to facilitate access to electronic services, follow-ups on transactions, define and follow up performance indicators, assist the call center, achieve accuracy and transparency, and provide services across all channels.

The first phase of the platform will offer services relating to real estate registry, including requesting access to real estate data, such as issuing a replacement for lost and damaged ownership, correcting the name, requesting a real estate data certificate, in addition to the service of releasing the mortgage and registering the ownership of the property (inheritance inventory).
